Mid Career Pensions Course

This course is aimed at those who are not thinking about retirement yet but are at the stage of their career when they should be putting their finances in order. Many delegates that attend the pre retirement course comment that they wished they had known the facts ten years earlier.

The main focus of this course is pensions awareness with particular emphasis on the NHS pension scheme(s). As there have been many changes to the NHS pension over the past few years understanding the exact details of your pension can be very complex.

You may have membership in three schemes - 1995; 2008; 2015. Issues arise from different retirement ages within each of these schemes:

             1995 scheme - age 55 and 60; 2008 scheme - age 65 and 2015 scheme - your specific state retirement age.

Members fall into one of three categories:

Fully protected; Tapered protected; Non protected

Members that fall into the last two categories - tapered and non protected - have complex decisions to make. On the mid career pensions course we clarify which of the above schemes and categories delegates fall into and explain the decisions that will need to be faced.

This course will help you to clarify the situation and will give you ways in which you can enhance and improve your pension over the coming years.

The course also covers independent financial advice and estate planning relevant to those at this mid career stage.
